Life Lately – Update
Life Lately – Update
In this fiery behind-the-scenes dispatch, Ravyn Vale pulls back the curtain on her wonderfully chaotic creative life, where writing, worldbuilding, and real-life side quests collide in a whirlwind of magic, exhaustion, and unshakable passion. From the ever-growing inferno of The Burning Bride to an explosion of concept art, a full author-website migration, and the ongoing quest for followers, this update captures the heart of a writer juggling stories, children, battles with technology, and the occasional health-related dragon. Equal parts humorous and heartfelt, it is a warm invitation into the beautifully blazing world behind the Fire Court Saga.

A Dispatch From the Writer
Who Accidentally Set Her
Schedule on Fire
Greetings, travelers of my little corner of the internet.
Come, warm your hands by the hearth—I’ve returned from the wilds of Real Life with an update on all the ventures, quests, and creative beasts I’ve been wrestling.
Now that I’ve welcomed you, let’s begin!
The Burning Bride: Progress From the Fire Court
Work continues on The Burning Bride, the novel that has claimed my sleep, my days, and, if we’re being honest, possibly my sanity. Eira and Kael are no longer just characters; they are loud, opinionated roommates in my brain who knock things off tables when I ignore them.
Chapters grow, lore deepens, and the Fire Court flickers at the edges of my dreams like a kingdom trying to drag me back through the Ember Gate.
The book now has updated word counts, chapter counts, and page counts: A.K.A. “proof that I haven’t just been staring at walls dramatically.”
Word Count: 62,245
Page Count: 384 in a 6 x 9 paperback formated Microsoft Word Document
Chapter Count: Prologue + 17
Art, Aesthetics & Accidental Summonings
Concept art flourishes across my desk and laptop screen like enchanted scrolls demanding attention:
- fire-drenched landscapes
- phoenix silhouettes
- character sketches
- title cards for poems and short stories, even chapters
- author website imagery
- and more fantasy-aesthetic pictures than one mortal should legally be allowed to create or obtain
If you walk into my workspace right now, one of two things will happen:
- you’ll gasp in awe
- or you’ll assume I’ve been communing with the ancient spirits in Adobe Photoshop
Both are correct.
The Author Website: A New Realm Takes Shape
For the past three days, I have been locked in a battle with the forces of digital destiny as I migrated my entire author world from one host to another on a completely new platform. Imagine me as a slightly frazzled mage shuffling enchanted scrolls from one tower to the next while muttering incantations at uncooperative menus.
Every page has been rebuilt, every image recrafted, and every bit of lore coaxed into its new home. The process felt like lifting an entire kingdom and setting it down in a different realm, all while hoping the bridges stay intact and the dragons do not wake up angry.
The new site is taking shape with steady, stubborn magic. Soon you will be able to step inside and explore the world of The Burning Bride with fresher colors, smoother paths, and a few hidden sparks of enchantment.
Social Media: The Quest for Followers
(Send Supplies)
I have officially launched author accounts on Instagram, X, Pinterest, TikTok and Facebook.
My follower count currently resembles the population size of a small goblin village—meaning: tiny, chaotic, and full of potential.
I’ve been posting art, updates, questions, and dramatic fantasy-themed nonsense. If you’ve commented, liked, or followed… congratulations: you are now part of the founding party of this adventuring guild.
Life Behind the Scenes (A.K.A. The Side
Quests)
When I’m not worldbuilding or fighting with commas, I’m:
- herding children like they’re tiny unpredicable fae
- drinking vitamin water like it’s a potion of +5 vitality
- navigating ongoing health challenges with the enthusiasm of a weary knigt who already finished this questline
- capturing nature photos
- gaming (mostly WoW, because muscle memory is eternal)
- drawing, designing, editing, cooking, and plotting
- and trying, TRULY TRYING, to rest between all the epic nonsense
Life feels like a tapestry woven by a distracted wizard: chaotic, vibrant, occasionally on fire, but undeniably full of magic.
What Comes Next
More Chapters.
More Concept Art.
More Enchantment.
More updates that arrive like messenger ravens delivering scrolls at dawn.
Thank you, seriously, for being a part of this journey from spark to inferno. We are only at the beginning. The flame is rising and I can’t wait to show you what burns next.
